BAREFACE: A NIGHT OF MISTAKES
Lily James, Tom Stourton & Charly Clive star alongside comedy troupe BareFace in brand new webisode pilot
BareFace – a comedy group dedicated to battling the preconceptions of disabilities – present their webisode pilot A NIGHT OF MISTAKES, starring Lily James (Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, Pam & Tommy), Tom Stourton (Stath Lets Flats, Pls Like) and Charly Clive (Pure, Britney).
This is the story of three fantastically talented actors Zara Jayne, Lee Phillips and Kirsty Adams overcoming and defying the labels (CHARGE syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy) with which they’ve been burdened.
Using the theatre space as a metaphor for society as a whole, the film takes a satirical look at how each actor is consistently let down, patronised and ignored for their specific needs. Whether it’s needing extra care and consideration, not wanting to be infantilised, or just wishing their disability could be understood, ultimately, neurotypicals could all do better if they just take a moment to sit and listen rather than trying to ‘fix it’.

Loosely inspired by BareFace’s acclaimed Edinburgh stage show FIX US (‘A brilliant and original show’ – Tim Vine), A NIGHT OF MISTAKES is their first work on screen as a comedy group. The film was funded by the Arts Council, written, devised and performed by Zara, Kirsty and Lee, co-starring Lily James, Tom Stourton & Charly Clive. A Night of Mistakes is co-written by Paloma Oakenfold and Tom Palmer (one half of the Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominated sketch group Totally Tom) and directed by Jack Hextall.

And whilst it hopes to make you laugh, it is also sure to make you think as these three extraordinary individuals bare their souls on stage. Watch as their real-life inner anxieties clash and combust with these flamboyant characters, and BareFace show you who they really are.
